Do you know who this lovely lady is? She’s Scottish vocalist Mary Lee who passed away March 13 at age 100.  She sang with the bands of Roy Fox, Ambrose, Jack Payne, Jack Jackson and Harry Roy. She was born August 13, 1921 and will be getting a birthday segment on the August 14 show, which will include a complete biography, but you’ll hear three of her records in the fourth segment of this week’s show. In other segments, we’ll celebrate  Eddie Ward’s birthday, we’ll hear some songs about red hair and freckles, we’ll continue last week’s vocabulary lesson and take musical trip to the Congo.  There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and be magically transported back to an earlier–and we think better–musical era.
