Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.
Do you know who this fellow is? He’s Benjamin Samberg, aka Benny Bell, among a number of other pseudonyms. Fans of the Dr. Demento show will know him from his “mind rhyme” songs “Shaving Cream” and “The Automobile Song,” but he wrote and performed many more than just those two. Benny gets not just one, but two segments in this week’s show. One features songs he wrote, sung by others, and the other features Benny singing his own songs. We’ll also celebrate the birthday of Leroy Montesanto, take a walk and hear from The Krakajax. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and be magically transported back to a different–and we thing better–musical era.
ENJOY THE SHOW!
