Welcome to "Rapidly Rotating Records," Glenn Robison's weekly, one hour radio program of "toe-tapping music from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and 30s", broadcast Sunday evenings at 6:00 PM over KISL FM 88.7 Avalon.
On this week's brand new edition of Rapidly Rotating Records, we're going to have a musical baby shower! As you're listening to the original over the air broadcast of this show, I'm actually at a baby party. Many of you know my friend David Weinberg, propritor of randomtape.com, and producer for APM Marketplace. Well David and his lovely wife are having a baby! There are lots and lots of vintage songs about babies, but most of them use baby as a term of endearment for a lover or spouse. But I did manage to find some vintage records about infants and having a baby. Enough for not one, but two segments! We'll also celebrate the birthdays of Archie Gottler, Grant Clarke and Scrappy Lambert. As always, just click on the link below to instantly listen streaming online and/or download the show. And your comments, topic suggestions and requests are always welcome. Enjoy!
