Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.
Do you know who this fellow is? He’s jazz, stride and boogie-woogie pianist Garland Wilson. Remarkably, he was first heard on the show just last year but is now getting his first, well-deserved birthday segment. Edith Evans and Eliseo Grenet are also getting first time birthday segment on this week’s show as well. Nappy Lamare has a birthday segment this week, but he’s had at least one already. In the remaining segment, we’ll be hearing from some Franceses. Frances used to be exclusively a female name and Frances a male name, but I’m told they’re pretty much non-gender specific these days. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era.
THANKS FOR LISTENING! ENJOY THE SHOW!
