A “Laughing at…” Edition of RRR #1,247 June 9, 2024

Ted Lewis

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Do you know who this fellow is? Many of you will recognize him by the battered top hat as Ted Lewis, the high-hatted tragedian of song. His is one of four birthday salutes on this week’s edition of the Rapidly Rotating Records. We’ll also be celebrating the natal anniversaries of Dale Wimbrow, Fred Waring and Neville Fleeson. And we’ll start off the show by laughing at some things. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era.
