Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.
Do you know who this fellow is? He’s pianist Alec Templeton who became popular on radio in the US for his talent in playing serious classical music, but also for his satirical parodies of the classics. You’ll hear one of them, “Mendelssohn Mows ‘Em Down” in the fourth segment of the show. We’ll be celebrating two birthdays this week, those of Ben Quillian and German bandleader Max Rumpf. We’ll also have a poetry recitation and we’ll meet again. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era.
THANKS FOR LISTENING! ENJOY THE SHOW!
