Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Do you know who this fellow is? He’s composer and musicologist Peter Schickele and discoverer of P. D. Q. Bach, “the oddest of Johann Sebastian Bach’s 20-odd children.” I’ve been a fan of Professor Schickele and of P. D. Q. Bach ever since high school. and I was greatly saddened last month upon his death, even though his primary focus was not music of the 1920s and ’30s, the first segment is dedicated to him and has a connection to a piece from 1925.
