Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.
Do you know who this fellow is? He’s British composer and bandleader Herman Finck, getting a birthday segment for the second time. You’ll be hearing more than the usual three tunes from him because we’ll be playing both sides of British Columbia 78 DX677, “Finckiana – A Fantasia on the Works of Herman Finck.” Two others will be getting birthday segment for the first time, Jerry Baker and Charlie Kisco. In other segments we’ll play some records about the color purple and “ever since.” There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Click on the player above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING!
