Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.
Do you recognize this fellow? He’s composer, pianist and bandleader Roy Bargy. Although he’s heard regularly on the show, his last birthday salute was ten years ago, so it’s about time he gets the spotlight again, with a little bit of new information. “It’s the berries” is a slang term from the 1920s meaning that something is very good. This week’s show is the berries as we have segments about strawberries, other types of berries, and even razzberroes! And we’ll also hear about flappers, both toilet flappers and Jazz Age flappers! There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Click on the player above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING
