Nuts About RRR # 1,258 August 25, 2024

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t not tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Do you know who these fellows are? They’re The Harmonizers Quartet and you’ll hear them start off the second segment of this week’s show with “I Was Born In Michigan.” They also recorded as The Singing Troubadours and you’ll also find out the names of the members. We’ll be celebrating two birthdays this week, those of Malvin Franklin and Pinkey Hunter. In other segments we’ll have some songs about annelids (worms!) and in the final segment we’ll just go plain nuts! There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Just click the link above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.

“I’m Nuts About Nuts” feels awfully similar to “Yes! We Have No Bananas.” Great show.
