Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – 12 May 2019

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Did you know that James P. Johnson, the father of stride piano, wrote an opera? Do you know the name of it? Do you know Blind Sammie’s real name? Do you know who was behind the creation of Mother’s Day? Find out the answers to those questions and much more on this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records. We’re going to go all night long, satisfy our hunger, stroll down some lanes, do some strutting and celebrate Mother’s Day.
