Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – 31 March 2019

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

You can count on one hand, and have digits left over, the number of times Tom Coakley has ever been heard on the show, but tonight he starts off the show with his very own birthday tribute. Do you remember newspapers? Do you remember comic strips in newspapers? What did you call them? Maybe like me, you called them the comics. Perhaps you called them the Sunday funnies, or the funny papers, or even just the funnies. Whatever you called them, rather than reading the funnies, in the second segment of this week’s edition of Rapidly Rotating Records we’re going to listen to the funnies. And in the last three segments of the show were going to play another game of “One Thing In Common.” You know, that’s where we play a set of records which seemingly have nothing whatsoever to do with each other, but in fact, have ,”One Thing In Common.”
