Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – January 9, 2022

Ace Brigode

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Do you know who this fellow is? He’s one of my favorite bandleaders, Athos C. Brigode, better known as “Ace.” He’s been featured on the show before, but for this birthday segment we’ve got some new information about him and some new recordings. The same is true for Jane Green, whose birthday we’re also celebrating. And getting his own birthday segment for the first time is violinist, bandleader and composer Fred Hager. With all the rain we had last week here in southern California we’ll have a segment about umbrellas and I hope you’re hungry because we’ve got a reservation at Rector’s.  There’s lots of great music and interesting information, so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and be magically transported back to a different (and we think better!) musical era.

ENJOY THE SHOW!
