Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.
Do you know who this gentleman is? He’s pianist Cliff Jackson shown here at New York City’s Cafe Society in 1947. You’ll hear him earlier in his musical career as piano roll artist, classic blues accompanist and bandleader with his group the Crazy Kats. His is but one of four birthday we’re celebrating on this week’s show. The others are Hero De Rance, William Tracey and Tommy Kinsman. In the fourth segment, we’ll engage in sole jollity and have a tasty snack. There’s lots of great music and interesting information, so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and be magically transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era.
ENJOY THE SHOW!
