Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – July 31, 2022

Bradley Kincaid Sherman Hotel Kitchen 1929

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Do you know who the fellow playing the guitar is? He’s American folk singer, composer and radio entertainer Bradley Kincaid. I have no idea of the back story for this photograph but it was taken in the kitchen of the Sherman Hotel in Chicago in 1929. Also pictured are Chef Tom Magliano and WLS radio announcer Bob Boulton. I have no idea why they were broadcasting from the hotel’s kitchen, but you’ll find out all about Bradley Kincaid in the final segment of this weeks’ edition of Rapidly Rotating Records.  We’ll also have a slightly belated birthday segment for lyricist Eddie Lisbona. In the first segment of the show you’ll find out all about Humphrey O’Sullivan’s contribution to footwear. And we’ll have some coming’s and goings.  There’s lots of great music and interesting information, so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and be magically transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era.

ENJOY THE SHOW!
