Rapidly Rotating Records 78 RPM Show – March 27, 2022

Paul Specht

Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.

Do you know who this gentleman is? He’s violinist and pianist Paul Specht. He was also a bandleader and you’ll hear three of his recordings in the second segment of this week’s edition of the show. We’ll also be celebrating the birthday of J. Donald Parker, aka Jack Parker. Neither of those was his actual birth name. You’ll find out his real name in the fourth segment of the show. In other segments, we’ll throw some boomerangs, see if they come back, and have a vocabulary lesson. Unfortunately, there’s only one record in the vocabulary segment because there’s even more information in this show than usual. I hope you find it interesting enough to displace a bit of the music this week.  We’ll continue the vocabulary segment on next week’s show.  There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and be transported magically back to a different–and we thing better–musical era.

ENJOY THE SHOW!
