Welcome to Glenn Robison’s Rapidly Rotating Records, bringing you vintage music to which you can’t *not* tap your toes, from rapidly rotating 78 RPM records of the 1920s and ’30s.
Do you know who this fellow is? He’s fiddler, composer and bandleader Shelly Lee Alley. For his first birthday segment on the show, you’ll hear three recordings by his late ’30s group Shelly Lee Alley and His Alley Cats, including two of his own compositions. We’ll also be celebrating Harold Dellon’s birthday with three of his songs. All this after I make a correction from last week’s show and play a record which got cut from last week’s show because of time. In other segments this week, we’ll hear three of Justin Ring’s bands, do some screaming and have some fun. There’s lots of great music and interesting information so set aside an hour with your favorite beverage and prepare to be transported back to a different–and we think better–musical era. Click on the player above to listen streaming online and/or download for listening at your convenience.
THANK YOU FOR LISTENING
